With the uncertainties of working for someone else, you may decide that your best career option is to opt out and become an entrepreneur, working for yourself. As an entrepreneur, you decide on your own compensation and your own working conditions.
No boss or business owner is likely to pay you the salary that you would pay yourself. You might receive little bonuses and raises but managers tend to be careful in not appearing to favor one individual over the team. Or, if there is a union involved, your pay is likely tied to a contract regardless of your individual performance.
