Question: Through high school I always thought that the best way for me to make a good living was as a lawyer. Now, following your real estate advice, I’m not so sure. Why should I spend $100,000 becoming a lawyer if I can use that money for down payments on my six properties and become wealthy? To me, “wealthy” sounds better than“lawyer.” My parents think being a lawyer has more prestige. What do you think?
Answer: I don’t know you. You know you. You don’t sound that committed to the legal profession. If you love the idea of pursuing justice in defense of the wronged, then do what you love and become a lawyer.
If, however, you are only looking at becoming an attorney as a means to earn lots of money, I’d encourage you to think seriously about becoming a Master of Success and choose to become wealthy through real estate investing. In the years to come, your parents will find prestige in having a well to do son.
Of course, many lawyers are also real estate millionaires. You can do both.
