ANSWER: You are never too old to benefit from martial arts training. Self-defense and fitness and companionship are all good reasons. You’ll be active and having fun. And, you’ll have some cool bragging rights.
You can take self-defense lessons and become more alert and aware and confident. Perhaps, you can interest other seniors. I am sure that most karate school owners would welcome starting such a specialized program.
Firearms are excellent weapons if you are willing to train and practice.
All dogs have good hearing and are an excellent early warning system. Many criminals admit being intimidated by a large dog on the street or even a small dog behind a closed door. A trained attack dog may be a good and faithful companion as well as a crime deterrent
