Take the job and buy real estate

QUESTION: Mr. Bill, I am a college senior and I’m getting scared that I won’t be able to find a good job. I have sent out 200 resumes and gotten only four interviews and no callbacks. There is a furniture store where I used to work as a kid that would probably hire me but, if I take this job, then my college education would have been a waste. Help.
ANSWER: The time to start looking for a job is freshman year and not senior year. As early as possible in your college career, you need to focus on your job search. You need contacts in your industry. You need to have joined join association. You need to have taken internships and have sought opportunities to work part-time.
OK, you didn’t do this. So, get a job. What’s wrong with selling furniture? I bet you can find many people who make very good livings selling furniture, why not you? Take the job and work hard. Then, work overtime, work 50-60 hours a week and save and start buying income producing real estate.
Don’t complain. Take the initiative and make success happen.
